Hiring Now: Design & Project Engineer, Durham / North Yorkshire.
Our client is a industry specialist within their field, they provide bespoke solutions for offshore cable and SURF protection systems, taking products from concept through to production.
They are looking for an experienced Design & Project Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.
Can you coordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality, planning, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning?

The responsibilities of a Design & Project Engineer:
- Primary contact for the client, involving them in the contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfilment.
- Assist and Support the Engineering Manager on delivering company projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring the projects are accurately completed to schedule.
- Support Design and Project Engineers on the delivery of their projects become secondary contact for clients when necessary and ensuring contract fulfilment.
- Determines client and project specifications, objectives, schedule and responsibilities, by reviewing client documentation, identifying customer requirements conferring with the management team.
- Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control to help meet projected profitability targets and business results
- Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
- Evaluates systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes and studying customer requirements.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components.
- Prepares data by collecting, analysing and summarising information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
- Supports sales with the technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing the technical offer, analysing project specifications and designing the technical solution.
The ideal background of a Design & Project Engineer:
- Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Experience in a technical role involving project planning and cost control
- Strong knowledge of CAD modelling and drawings with experience in design analysis. (Experience with Solidworks is a plus!)
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including, machining and fabrication as a minimum.
- Must have excellent understanding of Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Standards, with a focus on creating improvement standards that are based on the practices of root cause analysis
