Our client is an established, employee-focused Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, residential, education and public sector projects throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, they’re looking to recruit a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their expanding Stockton-on-Tees office, where you’ll receive structured mentoring, professional development and the opportunity to work towards Chartership.

The Role

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you’ll become part of an experienced structural engineering team, supporting the delivery of projects from initial concept through to construction.

Working alongside senior engineers, you’ll develop your technical skills while gaining exposure to structural design, calculations, site inspections and client interaction across a diverse range of projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the structural design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures.
  • Produce structural calculations, technical drawings and engineering reports.
  • Support the delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
  • Work collaboratively with Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Assist with structural inspections and condition surveys.
  • Develop engineering solutions in accordance with current UK Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Attend project meetings and support client communications.
  • Work closely with Chartered Engineers who will mentor and support your professional development.

The Ideal Graduate Structural Engineer

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Up to two years’ post-graduate experience within a Civil or Structural Engineering Consultancy.
  • An understanding of structural engineering principles and design.
  • Experience using, or exposure to, software such as Tekla Structural Designer (TSD), TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit or similar.
  • Competent using Microsoft Excel.
  • Keen to work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, or working towards obtaining one.
