Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of steel structures, working across a number of sectors including telecommunications.

Due to continued company success, they require a Procurement Sourcing Specialist to join their business on a permanent basis.

As a Sourcing Specialist you will ensure the timely, cost-effective procurement of materials and services while upholding quality, compliance, and sustainability standards.

The responsibilities of the Sourcing Specialist:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for both direct and indirect materials to drive cost efficiency.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers; manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure quality and value.
  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favourable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align sourcing with business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, benchmarks, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Manage multiple sourcing projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic diversification and contingency planning.
  • Utilise procurement tools and ERP systems to manage sourcing activities efficiently.

 

The ideal background of a Sourcing Specialist:

  • Proven expertise in sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation (5 years)
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field and/ or CIPS
